This is a very well-made magnetic knife / tool bar that’s heading to my workshop … This is an excellent knife holder which has such strong magnetizing properties across the two strips, I’m inclined to think they are neodymium magnets. There are two magnetic strips set in metal channels. The wood appears to be light-colored oak, which is slightly beveled on each lengthwise strip. The wood is quite heavy and sturdy. This Culina magnetic knife bar is a perfect one for the kitchen. I tried several different kitchen tools, including knives. My larger, old-fashioned knives didn’t balance as well due to the heavy wooden handles. I was quite surprised at how many knives and tools I could get on the bar.I don’t have a great deal of kitchen space, so I’m more inclined to use this to store tools in my workshop. Actually, that’s exactly where it’s headed. It does hold quite a few small tools and they lined up quite nicely, making them look quite organized. One of my Phillip’s-head screwdrivers had a round…

Powerful magnets and first-rate construction I received this knife holder as a review sample. It has amply ‘real estate’ to hold my mist used knives with room to spare. In fact the only difficult thing was finding an ideal location for it since my main kitchen working space is an open island. The magnet is super strong. I just had to test it and it actually lifted and held a fairly heavy toaster over when I laid the holder lengthwise across the top of it. (when I had it laid across the width there was not enough contact to lift it.) However, this is designed to safely hold knives not toaster ovens, and it firmly held every steel knife and scissors that I tested it with. Of course it will not hold non-ferrous tools that are made from titanium, aluminum and the such.Magnets are fairly thin, U-shaped channels that run the full length of the holder. The center of each magnet strip is a darker, softer material that is both attractive and functional. I am guessing that those are there to protect knife blade tips…

This is a very well-built magnet bar. The base is solid wood that has a semi-gloss finish. It looks far better than the price would suggest. The wood is a perfect match for my maple cabinets but since it’s a light tone it would blend it with pretty much any decor. It’s a simple, plain design that (to my eye) is quite attractive. The bar fastens to the wall with two screws (which are included, along with plastic wall anchors). The screw heads are recessed so they don’t interfere with use of the magnet bars. The magnet bars (there are 2 of them) run the length of the bar. The magnet strength is more than strong enough to hold any type of knife. I tried it with everything from a 3 inch paring knife to a 12 inch chefs knife, and was very pleased with how secure it was held. Although I’m using this for knives, I also tried it out with some tools, and it works very well to hold small hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc. It…
