It easily converts to vacuum mode for quick and easy vacuuming of debris from hard surfaces like patios, decks, garages and walkways. Not recommended for use in the grass or flower beds. This is a bare-tool item that works with the powerful 36V Lithium Ion battery or the 40V MAX* Lithium Ion battery for easy use without extension cords (battery and charger not included). This item features Power Command which controls speed for maximum run-time or maximum power . This is a lightweight unit at just 5.4 pounds for quick and easy blowing of debris; 6.9 pounds in vacuum mode. Its low noise design allows for quiet operation, so not to bother the neighbors when in use. I wanted to love this but… After having this for a season I have to say it’s just not B&D quality.The battery is not an issue. It lasts and charges quickly so no issue with that. The problem is that it’s just so weak, no power. It’ll barely blow grass from the driveway. Come fall, don’t even think about moving a leaf. Even with the power at full (6 for this model?) it just can’t muster the power to move even the smallest job.In addition the air intake will clog all of the time. If you are right…

Decent improvement over my 18V blower 10/20/16 UpdateToday I used this vacuum to take the leaves off the lawn. Then I switched to the 18V blower to blow the leaves off our large patio, and garden areas. I had to use FOUR 18V batteries to do that job. The 40V Lithium Ion battery is spoiling me. I’m seriously thinking of buying a second LSWV36 and keeping one in blower mode with the other in vacuum mode. That will give me two batteries and full redundancy of spare parts…
